Jones Journal Monthly e-Mailer for July 2002

Dear Friends,

The purpose of this monthly e-mail is to share updates on ministry, family, praise and prayer. These next couple months will be focused on getting us back to Panama!

As we mentioned in last month's e-Mailer, we have received from the Assemblies of God World Missions HQ a deadline departure date of September 6, 2002. That means we must have our monthly and cash budgets raised by then.

I want you to know that this desperate deadline we face is forcing me to operate outside of my comfort zone and out of character. I'm boldly asking you to please join our financial and prayer support team or increase your current pledge.

To that end I had been calling pastors all day, leaving a message for one of them that ended with how we are trusting in God's provision. Unconsciously I closed with "in your name we pray (brain engages), I mean, it's in *God's* name we pray..." stumble, fumble, hang-up! The next pastor I called, not knowing any of this, told me "Don't work too hard!" I guess my weariness was showing.

Of our original budget, we lack about $3000/month, after raising $1500/month. We have eliminated three-fourths of our children's schooling and other ministry expenses to an absolute minimum number of $1700/month still lacking. We are considering home school as an option instead of Balboa Academy H.S. for Chloe and Crossroads Christian Academy grade school for Anthony, Celina and later Gracie.

We need to raise that in pledges before September 6, 2002 in order to return to Panama. We still believe God has a work for us to do in Panama. So we are trusting in His provision through His Church and His People.

It's very difficult to have to be so bold in soliciting additional monthly support, but that's the reality we face right now. We're in the "home stretch" and we're going to leave it all out on the track. Any additional monthly support would be greatly appreciated.

If we have not yet spoken by phone, your call or email would be much appreciated--especially with a positive response. Even if it's a "no," that frees up time to contact another potential pledge supporter. Thanks for helping out.
